Dr Alejandro Molina
Cardiovascular surgeon · structural cardiology and minimally invasive surgery

Alejandro Molina is a cardiovascular surgeon practising in Guadalajara, with a decade of work across highly specialised public and private centres in Mexico, Canada and France. His training is concentrated in the two areas that have changed cardiac surgery most in the last decade: structural cardiology and minimally invasive technique.
He founded Cirugía de Corazón on a straightforward premise, and it is the one stated on the front page of this site: first build an exceptional relationship with the patient and their family, and everything else follows from that.

Professional experience

Over his career he has taken part in more than 1,000 cardiac surgical procedures. He was recognised by the University of Montreal for his active service during the COVID-19 pandemic at the Montreal Heart Institute.
How he works
Every case is reviewed individually and discussed with a multidisciplinary team before a recommendation is made, against international medical practice guidelines. Where a less invasive option exists and the evidence supports it, that is the option put forward. Where it does not, he will say so.
The final decision always belongs to the patient. Second opinions are encouraged.
